Stroke Smart Partner Recognition Program
The Stroke Smart South Carolina Partner recognition program honors organizations that go above and beyond to educate their staff and community about strokes. Any organization, large or small, is welcome to apply. Together we can make South Carolina a Stroke Smart state!
How to Participate
- Print and distribute Stroke Smart SC materials
- Educate your team: teach staff and team members how to recognize stroke symptoms and to call 911 immediately if they spot a sign.
- Promote stroke awareness: share information within your organization and your broader community by providing education and encouraging staff to become Stroke Smart Champions.
- Complete the recognition application form: this helps DPH share what your organization has done to help educate others about stroke.
What Partners Receive
- A certificate recognizing your organization as an official Stroke Smart SC Partner
- Public recognition on the DPH website as a Stroke Smart Partner
- An invitation to join the SC stroke advisory councils and be a part of the Stroke Smart SC conversations going on across the state.

Stroke Smart Champions
A Stroke Smart Champion is committed to educate their communities about the signs and symptoms of stroke.
How to Participate
- Take the pledge by filling out the Stroke Smart Champion certificate and declaring how many people you pledge to teach about stroke.
- Use the Stroke Smart Champion PowerPoint slides as a guide for success! Make sure you also have pledge cards and educational materials to share with those you teach.
