Hurricane Helene: Public Health Department Closures

Latest updates: Hurricane Helene

Our public health departments' hours of operation may be affected by power and staffing outages. This means that some closures may not appear on the state government office delays and closings map. The health and safety of our employees and our clients remains our highest priority. We are working to get services restored as safely and quickly as possible.

Each year, the Healthcare/Hospital Preparedness Program sponsors a summit to advance preparedness, communication, and collaboration among community health care organizations, response partners and public health entities.

Summit Objectives:

  • Exchange information that supports recovery planning that emphasizes health care system strengthening, coordination and leveraging of resources.
  • Enhance the development of community partnerships to plan and advocate for the rebuilding of South Carolina's public health, medical and mental/behavioral health systems.
  • Enrich the resiliency in South Carolina communities by developing appropriate recovery plans for health and social systems that can be activated before, during and after a disaster.
