Hurricane Helene: Public Health Department Closures

Latest updates: Hurricane Helene

Our public health departments' hours of operation may be affected by power and staffing outages. This means that some closures may not appear on the state government office delays and closings map. The health and safety of our employees and our clients remains our highest priority. We are working to get services restored as safely and quickly as possible.

Resources from the Division of Injury and Substance Abuse Prevention

The Community Outreach Paramedic Education (COPE) program is a post-overdose outreach initiative that links overdose survivors to a multidisciplinary team shortly after a Naloxone administration or overdose event. During the visit, the patient will receive harm reduction materials and be linked to drug treatment and peer support. DPH prevention staff also distribute COPE cards (which contain a QR code that links to this page) to both COPE participants during a visit and to the community at large.

On this page you will find both internal and external substance use prevention resources as well as links to other DPH resources such as the women, infants, and children nutrition program, cancer screening resources, and child passenger safety information. If you have any questions about the COPE program or Opioid Prevention activities, please see the program contact information below.
