Camp Burnt Gin, a residential summer camp for children, teens and young adults who have physical disabilities and chronic illnesses, offers six sessions throughout the summer.

The days at camp are filled with a variety of activities that can be adapted so that every camper can participate. The evening program varies each night and includes a talent show, dance, campfire, and award ceremony. Our summer camp program allows our campers the opportunity to be independent, try new things, learn new skills, and make new friends.

Check out our activities below to learn more about our program:

The Arts & Crafts program is designed to foster creativity and help camper develop hobbies. Activities may include drawing, painting, necklace making, bracelet making, tie dying, etc.

Expanding imagination and self-expression is the design of our Fine Arts program. Activities may include skit writing, acting, learning different dances, musical games, etc.

The Nature & Science program is designed to teach campers about the world around them. Activities may include gardening, volcanoes, ice cream in a bag, nature walks/scavenger hunts, etc.

Cooperative play and developing recreational skills is the design of our Sports & Games program. Activities may include kickball, volleyball, relay races, parachute games, etc.

American Red Cross certified lifeguards supervise the swimming and boating programs. Counselors swim and play alongside the campers in the pool to help ensure their safety. Depending on the camper’s needs, the staff-to-camper ratio is 1:1 or 1:3. Time is spent learning basic swimming skills and playing in the pool.

Boating is often a new experience for our campers and a great opportunity to explore the lake. Canoes, kayaks and paddle boats are available for the campers' and counselors’ use. Counselors always accompany campers in the boats and life jackets are worn by everyone. All boating activities are supervised by lifeguards.
