Children's Health Assessment Survey

The CHAS is a comprehensive surveillance system in South Carolina that conducts an annual survey. The survey provides state-level statistical estimates on health issues of South Carolina children.

Injury Data

This comprehensive, interactive tool is designed to provide insightful data and analysis on various injury indicators and overall injuries in South Carolina. The dashboard focuses on the following injury data measures: Overall Injury, Motor Vehicle Traffic, Traumatic Brain Injury, Unintentional Falls, Drowning, Homicide/Assault, Suicide/Self-Harm, and Firearm. Non-Fatal Overdose Dashboard (DOSE)

Launched in June 2026, the DOSE Dashboard displays emergency department visit data for suspected non-fatal drug overdoses in South Carolina. Overdose related emergency department visits can be divided by sex, race, age, geographic region, and drug type.

Overdose Biosurveillance

Launched in April 2024, this dashboard allows users to view available non-fatal overdose statistics for a variety of opioids, including fentanyl, as well as drugs like cocaine, xylazine, and methamphetamine. The data and analytics are based on samples collected and tested anonymously from 30 participating hospitals across South Carolina.  

Prescription Monitoring

The Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) dashboards show dispensation information by time, place and drug category for three different categories of substances – benzodiazepines, opioids, and stimulants – and feature key demographic data at the state and county level. The dashboards are updated quarterly to provide actionable data for a rolling two-year period:

SC Tracking offers a portal to health and environmental data, making it easier to access, track and study potential relationships between South Carolina’s environment and health. Our mission is to offer useful and updated data and information to promote public health action while giving special attention to vulnerable populations.

Respiratory Disease/Wastewater Surveillance Dashboard

DPH's first interactive Microsoft Power BI dashboard, the Respiratory Dashboard is provided to inform the public about the activity of respiratory diseases including COVID-19, flu (influenza), and RSV in South Carolina. Data will be updated every Wednesday beginning February 19, 2025. The addition of wastewater surveillance data in June 2026, helps monitor community health by testing for COVID-19, flu (influenza), and RSV levels in sewage water.

South Carolina Health Compass

The health compass contains interactive data for the public, policymakers and researchers that is from the 2023 South Carolina State Health Assessment. The data, which will be updated regularly, can be used in Community Health Assessments and by community coalitions, the General Assembly, local municipalities, colleges, and students to inform health program planning, policy, education, and grant activities.
