South Carolina Syphilis Information Exchange
Licensed health care providers may obtain historical syphilis test results and treatment information in the South Carolina Department of Public Health surveillance system to inform the diagnosis and management of syphilis in their patients.
The South Carolina Syphilis Information Exchange is not a medical record, nor is it intended to be a substitute for medical records. Health care providers are advised to retrieve and review medical records whenever they are available.
Tips for Providers
- Talk to your patients about their syphilis testing and treatment history to help you determine whether they have an active, untreated syphilis infection.
- Ask your patients to authorize the release of relevant medical records.
See SCSIE provider instructions for more information.
