SC Drug Overdose Data Products
The South Carolina Department of Public Health participates in both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Overdose Data to Action States initiative as well as the Governor’s Opioid Emergency Response Team. Both initiatives work with internal and external partners across the state to develop and implement overdose surveillance and prevention activities to combat the growing epidemic of opioid deaths, addiction, and abuse. This webpage showcases the various data products DPH has created to highlight this work.
Biosurveillance Dashboard
The Biosurveillance Dashboard showcases data from urine samples collected from participating hospital emergency departments and tests them at the Public Health Lab to see if fentanyl compounds or other drug substances were found in suspected non-fatal drug overdose patients.
DOSE Dashboard
The DOSE Dashboard showcases data from DPH’s syndromic surveillance system, highlighting triage data sent by participating hospital emergency department visits for suspected non-fatal drug overdoses in the state.
Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Dashboards
The Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Dashboards showcase data of scheduled II, III, and IV controlled substances of professional licensed professionals who have prescribed or dispensed these drugs in the state.
SUDORS Data Report
The SUDORS Data Report showcases data from DPH’s State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS), highlighting abstracted data for unintentional and undetermined intent drug overdose deaths from death certificates and medical examiners/coroner reports.
Naloxone Saturation Dashboard
Naloxone Saturation Dashboard: showcasing data from Naloxone distribution across the state, this dashboard highlights the naloxone saturation from state level down to distributor level in the state.
