COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) is standing down its winter storm-related Triage Line for eligibility for Medical Equipment Power Shelters (MEPS) as of 2 p.m. today and resuming normal hours of the agency’s CareLine (1-855-472-3432) at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Both services had been operating on a 24-hour basis since Jan. 23.
The Care Line will resume its normal operating hours of Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

COLUMBIA, S.C. ― The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) is reporting 89 new cases of measles in the state since Friday, bringing the total number of cases in South Carolina related to the Upstate outbreak to 789.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) confirmed that a raccoon found near Kemway and Burden Creek roads in Johns Island, S.C., has tested positive for rabies. No people are known to have been exposed at this time. One dog was exposed and will be quarantined as required in the South Carolina Rabies Control Act.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) is confirming a winter storm-related death in Greenwood County. A 96-year-old female died of hypothermia. The death was confirmed by the county coroner.
