Hurricane Helene: Public Health Department Closures

Latest updates: Hurricane Helene

Our public health departments' hours of operation may be affected by power and staffing outages. This means that some closures may not appear on the state government office delays and closings map. The health and safety of our employees and our clients remains our highest priority. We are working to get services restored as safely and quickly as possible.

What is a Statewide Oral Health Needs Assessment?

Statewide Oral Health Needs Assessment

The Statewide Oral Health Needs Assessment: Every Smile Counts screening is a simple visual dental evaluation for kindergarten and third grade students from selected schools across the state. The SC Statewide Oral Health Needs Assessment is done every five years to help provide a snapshot of the state's needs and successes in the area of oral health. It will help the Division of Oral Health plan future oral health programs and evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs. This dental screening does not take the place of regular check-ups by your family dentist or any dental services that you receive at your school.

Phase One will begin in October of 2022 and run through mid-December of 2022 in the Midlands and the Upstate. Phase Two will begin in January 2023 and will run through March 2023 in the Pee Dee and Lowcountry portion of the state.
