COVID-19

In South Carolina, COVID continues to cause illness, but with appropriate diagnosis and treatment, most cases can be managed. COVID illnesses occur year-round, unlike Influenza (Flu) and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) that are more common in the fall and winter when these viruses circulate heavily in our communities. DPH encourages everyone to observe good infection control practices year-round, like regular handwashing, getting tested if you are ill, staying home when sick, and covering your cough to protect yourself and others.
