Hurricane Helene: Public Health Department Closures

Latest updates: Hurricane Helene

Our public health departments' hours of operation may be affected by power and staffing outages. This means that some closures may not appear on the state government office delays and closings map. The health and safety of our employees and our clients remains our highest priority. We are working to get services restored as safely and quickly as possible.

Data Walks

Data walks are an effective means to disseminate data and spark change, and by conducting data walks, through cross-sectional partnerships, communities have been empowered to take ownership of their health. A team of multidisciplinary epidemiologists work collaboratively with community coalitions to discuss what data should be displayed during the data walks, in order to provide a tailored and unbiased snapshot of the communities' health. All data is analyzed through a health equity lens, with most data indicators stratified by various demographic subcategories. Data walks are in conjunction with community health improvement planning processes and serve as a resource to identify leading health topics in the community.
