Our public health departments' hours of operation may be affected by power and staffing outages. This means that some closures may not appear on the state government office delays and closings map. The health and safety of our employees and our clients remains our highest priority. We are working to get services restored as safely and quickly as possible.

It’s Your Health Take Charge

It’s Your Health Take Charge is an adult nutrition education curriculum that uses USDA MyPlate topics such as: Whole Grains and Fiber, Portion Distortion, Salt and Sodium, Label Reading, Healthy Cooking at Home, Shopping on a Budget, Choosing Healthy Options When Dining Out, and Increasing Physical Activity. Each lesson includes a cooking demonstration using recipes from Eating Healthy in a SNAP Recipe Book.

Eating Healthy in a SNAP

Whether you are an expert chef or “just the basics” cook, Eating Healthy in a SNAP recipes are sure to get you rocking and rolling in any kitchen. South Carolina SNAP-Ed families enjoy these tasty recipes and we hope you will like them too!

Eating Healthy in a SNAP is a series of quick, low cost, and healthy recipe videos. Each video is a recipe that you can find in our new cookbook, Eating Healthy in a SNAP. Watch these fun “how to” clips and then get to cooking in your own kitchen! Eating Healthy in a SNAP videos

CATCH

CATCH is an early childhood and school-age (3–4-year-old - 8th grade) nutrition education and physical activity curriculum. The CATCH Early Childhood curriculum has eight lessons that focus on nutrition education and physical activity and also a gardening and nutrition education curriculum. The after-school curriculum focuses on nutrition education and physical activity for K-8th grade.

Tiny Taste See How We Grow

Tiny Taste See How We Grow is a preschool nutrition education curriculum for children 3-4 years of age. The curriculum introduces children to a variety of fruits and vegetables.  Preschoolers learn how and where the food is grown, can touch, smell, taste each one, and learn a song about the fruit or vegetable. Nutrition messages and recipes using the fruit or vegetable of the day are sent home with each child on the day of the tasting. Taking Charge at the Farmers' Market

Taking Charge at the Farmers' Market offers food demonstrations and recipe tasting using local fresh fruits and vegetables at farmers markets accepting SNAP EBT cards and senior vouchers. Demonstrations take place May through October. Recipe cards for the foods demonstrated are available for participants. Physical Activity Programs

The Arthritis Foundation Walk With Ease® Program

The Arthritis Foundation Walk With Ease® Program is a 6-week walking program to help you move more your way. While walking is the central activity, Walk With Ease includes health education, stretching and strengthening exercises, and motivational strategies. Group sessions include social time, pre-walk informational sessions, warm-up and cool-down times, and a 10-35-minute walking period. Use SNAP-Ed's step-by-step videos for strengthening exercises and lower body stretches. Cooking demonstrations using recipes from the Eating Healthy in a SNAP Recipe Book are included in the program.
