Dec. 1, 2024COLUMBIA, S.C. – In observance of World AIDS Day on Dec. 1, the South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) will offer free testing at most local health departments on Tuesday, Dec. 3. South Carolinians can be tested for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and hepatitis C at no cost.

Nov. 25, 2024COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) confirmed that a skunk found near Sherer and Jack Wilson roads in Sharon, S.C., has tested positive for rabies. No people are known to have been exposed at this time. Two dogs and two cats were exposed and will be quarantined as required in the South Carolina Rabies Control Act.
