Family Privacy Protection

The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) establishes this policy on the collection and dissemination of personal information in accordance with Sections 30-2-10 through 30-2-50 of the South Carolina Code of Laws. The purpose of the policy is to ensure that the collection of personal information by DPH is limited to such personal information as is required and necessary to fulfill a legitimate public purpose, and to further ensure that DPH shall collect and disseminate personal information in compliance with the South Carolina Family Privacy Protection Act.

FOIA Policies and Procedures

I. GENERAL

It is hereby the policy of the South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) that its records (hereinafter "DPH") be open to the public for inspection and copying pursuant to, and subject to any limitations of, the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), S.C. Code Ann. 30-4-10 et seq. (1976, as amended). Further, that DPH be committed to following both the letter and spirit of the FOIA.
