Holly Gillam is the Information Technology Director for the Department of Public Health. She is a two-time graduate of the University of South Carolina, with both a bachelor’s (cum laude) and master's in technical geography.
Holly began her working career as an instructor at Piedmont Technical College before moving into the private sector to work for Westinghouse Electric Corporation (now Siemens) and Shiloh Steel Fabricators. She joined state government in 1995, working for USC’s institute of Archaeology and Anthropology as a GIS analyst until 2000, when she joined DHEC’s Division of Biostatistics. After working with spatial databases for DNR from 2005-2013, she returned to DHEC for good as enterprise applications director. She became interim chief information officer in May 2023.
Holly has been married to her husband, Chris, for more than 30 years. Together they have two children in college. Holly enjoys cooking and spending time with family and their two cats.
